The business and what survived

The business is gone.
This domain survived.

Jim Lunsford

Founder and owner · 2002–2012

I owned and operated L.T.D. Computer Services here in Columbus, Indiana. These are the surviving logos and hosting domain from that part of my life.

ltdcsserver.com was never the public website for L.T.D. Computer Services. That was ltdcomputerservices.com, a domain I no longer own.

This was the domain attached to the shared hosting account where I hosted websites. It stayed with me after the businesses ended.

01 / THE BUSINESS

What I built.

I started L.T.D. Computer Services in 2002. It was a small business in Columbus, Indiana, focused on residential computer repair. I owned it and operated it myself.

In 2010, I also established L.T.D.C.S Ventures for website development, maintenance, hosting, and related media and web work.

Both businesses ended in 2012.

02 / THE BREAK

What I lost.

From 2012 until August 2, 2015, I was in active addiction. I stayed intoxicated from the time I woke up until the time I went to sleep, seven days a week.

L.T.D. Computer Services was one of the things I lost during that period of my life. The business ended. For several years, I was not building.

03 / THE DOMAIN

What remained.

I kept ltdcsserver.com because it remained attached to my shared hosting account. I kept the account, too.

Keeping that infrastructure did not mean I was still running either business. L.T.D. Computer Services and L.T.D.C.S Ventures were over. The domain simply survived.

04 / THE RETURN

Building again.

I got sober on August 2, 2015. Eventually, I began using the old hosting environment and this domain again for my own websites and technical experiments.

There were web applications, WordPress sites, subdomains, and hosting moves. That work was personal. It was not a revived company or continued customer work.

My interest in building with technology had come back.

The person behind the business

Jim Lunsford.
Still building.

I am Jim Lunsford, a writer and software builder in Columbus, Indiana. I am a husband, father, grandfather, and runner. My life today includes family, work, running, and making things again.

I write about recovery, discipline, and rebuilding a life. I also build websites, work with WordPress, and develop software. Bonumark is the publishing system I am building and using for my own stream. The links below lead to my writing, daily updates, and source code.

I built L.T.D. Computer Services, and it mattered to me. I am keeping its name and artwork here because that part of my life deserves an accurate record. The business ended. Years later, I returned to technology and began building again.

The company ended.
The domain remained.
The builder came back.
